Overview

Historical Wide Receivers evaluates completed NFL wide receiver seasons within NFL Fantasy Mate's historical database.

Unlike the live Receiving Intelligence model, which follows the current season as it develops, this model evaluates only completed seasons.

Each season is compared exclusively with other historical wide receiver seasons, allowing every performance to be judged within the context of the position.

Historical Wide Receiver Categories

Historical Wide Receivers evaluates every season through five complementary analytical categories:

• Role
• Volume
• Efficiency
• After Catch
• Production

Each category describes a different aspect of the receiver's completed season.

Together, they explain how the player earned opportunities, converted them into production and created value throughout the season.

The Historical Overall Score summarises that profile.

Historical Overall Score

The Historical Overall Score combines the player's complete receiving profile into a single historical evaluation.

It should be interpreted as an overall summary rather than a replacement for the individual categories.

Two wide receivers may receive similar Historical Overall Scores while reaching those results through very different profiles.

For example:

• one season may be driven primarily by Role and Volume;
• another may rely on Efficiency and After Catch;
• another may be balanced across every category.

Reviewing the category profile alongside the Historical Overall Score provides a more complete understanding of the season.

Historical Overall Score explains how strong the season was.

Historical Context explains why the season was significant.

Historical Wide Receivers can be evaluated together with:

• Previous Season Comparison;
• Career Best Comparison;

• Top Competitor;

Together, these provide additional career and historical perspective without changing the Historical Overall Score.

Position-Specific Evaluation

Historical Wide Receivers compares only wide receivers.

Historical tight ends are evaluated within their own historical model.

Running backs are evaluated through the Historical Running Back model, which includes receiving as one component of the complete running back profile.
