Overview
Rushing Intelligence is NFL Fantasy Mate's live analytical engine for evaluating running backs during the current NFL season.
It evaluates the complete offensive profile of the position by combining:
- rushing workload;
- rushing efficiency;
- receiving contribution;
- big-play ability;
- offensive dominance;
- realized production.
How well is this player currently performing as a running back?
Rushing Intelligence focuses on current-season performance. Historical Intelligence evaluates completed seasons separately.
Who Is Evaluated
Rushing Intelligence evaluates NFL running backs.
Wide receivers and tight ends are not included, even when they occasionally receive designed rushing attempts.
The purpose is to evaluate the running back position as a whole, not every player who records a carry.
All league-wide Rushing Intelligence comparisons are therefore made within the running back population.
Why Receiving Is Included
Modern running backs contribute in both the rushing and passing games.
A model based only on carries, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns would miss a major part of the position.
Receiving involvement can influence:
- offensive role;
- snap and route participation;
- target opportunity;
- fantasy production;
- overall backfield value.
For this reason, Rushing Intelligence evaluates receiving contribution as one part of the complete running back profile.
The engine remains primarily focused on running back performance, but it recognises that receiving work is an essential part of that role.
Rushing Intelligence vs Receiving Intelligence
Running backs may appear in both engines.
This is intentional.
Rushing Intelligence
Evaluates the player as a complete running back.
It includes rushing workload, rushing efficiency, receiving contribution, dominance and production.
How well is this player performing as a running back overall?
Receiving Intelligence
Evaluates the player only as a pass catcher.
How well is this running back performing within the receiving game?
The two outputs should not be treated as duplicates.
A running back may be an excellent receiver while holding a limited rushing role, or may dominate carries while contributing very little through the passing game.
Two Independent Evaluations
Rushing Intelligence separates league-wide performance from team-relative backfield hierarchy.
Overall Score
The Overall Score compares the player with running backs across the league.
How strong is this player's current running back profile compared with other NFL running backs?
Team Context
Team Context compares the player with the other running backs on his own team.
How important is this player within his own backfield?
These are independent evaluations.
A player may dominate a weak backfield while remaining average across the league.
Another may perform at an elite league-wide level while sharing work with another productive teammate.

Every Rushing Intelligence profile can be read through three complementary layers:

Current Profile
The Current Profile describes how the player is performing now.
It includes:
- Overall Score;
- Role;
- Rushing Efficiency;
- Receiving;
- Big Play Ability;
- Dominance;
- Output.
Movement
Movement describes whether the profile is improving, declining or remaining broadly stable.
It includes:
- category Trend Strength;
- Momentum;
- L5 Trend;
- Season Trend;
- Overall Trend Index;
- Weekly Changes.
Context
Context helps explain the current evaluation.
It includes:
- Team Context;
- Baseline;
- Projection;
- Projection Confidence;
- Returned From Absence;
- Missing Alpha;
- Dynasty Market context.
These layers should be interpreted together rather than collapsed into a single conclusion.
What Rushing Intelligence Produces
Overall Score
Measures current running back performance relative to league-wide peers.
Team Context
Measures the player's control of his own backfield.
Baseline
Compares the current profile with the previous completed season.
Projection
Shows what the full-season profile could look like if the current pace continues.
Trend Strength and OTI
Describe whether the categories and complete running back profile are improving or declining.
Weekly Changes
Summarize the most meaningful recent developments.

The historical model is adapted for full-season evaluation and should not be treated as a direct replay of the live model.
The scores therefore answer related but different questions.
What Rushing Intelligence Is Not
